AIM - Mobility Training with Artificial Intelligence
The AI-powered smart cane
Thanks to its collaboration with Microsoft, WeWALK has developed AIM (AI Mobility Training), an innovative training technology designed to improve the mobility of people with visual impairments and support their orientation and mobility trainers.
What is AIM technology?
AIM uses the hardware and software of the WeWALK Smart Cane to collect and analyze real-time data, such as:
- Angle of the stick relative to the ground
- Amplitude of lateral oscillations
- Level of trust
- Distance traveled
- Number of steps
An artificial intelligence processes this information, displays it on dedicated screens, and shares it with O&M (Orientation and Mobility) specialists to optimize the learning process.
Benefits of AIM Training
Continuous monitoring
O&M specialists can independently monitor users' progress during training, even remotely.
Remote assignments
Trainers can monitor and manage tasks assigned to users during learning sessions.
Personalized education
By analyzing performance data, AIM allows you to tailor training content to the user's specific needs.
Measurability of results
Organizations can measure how many users they have trained over time and the positive impact on their autonomy by adopting a metrics-based approach.
How AIM Works
- The WeWALK Smart Cane collects data through its built-in sensors.
- An AI system processes this information.
- The data is visualized on interfaces designed to facilitate analysis by O&M specialists.
- Trainers and users can thus work together to improve orientation and mobility skills in a targeted and measurable way.
Who can use it?
AIM is designed for:
- People with visual impairments who want effective, data-driven training.
- O&M trainers who want to monitor and guide the mobility process remotely and in a personalized way.
